One-day Sailing Taster Course with Saracen Sailing

Mallorca Activities 121 were thrilled to be invited to try a one-day taster course with Saracen Sailing.

We set off early Sunday morning aboard the Teaberry, setting sail from Alcudiamar Puerto Deportivo. Rob, the Saracen instructor took us through all the safety procedures before we set off and was soon showing us the basics.

The bay of Alcudia is probably one of the best sailing areas on the island. It has plenty of beautiful bays where you can anchor and and the scenery is fantastic.

We anchored at 'El Pinar' and had a light lunch, bread, cheeses and cold meats with fresh salad before jumping in the turqouise blue water for a refreshing swim.

The one-day taster courses are designed to give you a 'taster' of what it is like to skipper and crew a yacht, and Rob ensured we all had a go at all the different jobs involved. This really is a great way to have a go and then hopefully go back again and do some RYA training. It is also a great way to meet new people and enjoy an exceptional day out admiring some of the most picturesque scenery in Mallorca!

Summer Living

Summer is in full swing and Mallorca Activities 121 has been out on the water with some of its fabulous boating activities!
We spent a morning on board a powerboat with Aurora Powerboats in Puerto Pollensa and then we went on a 'Lazy Day Cruise' with Attraction Catamarans setting off from Magaluf.
The Lazy Day Cruise was absolutely fantastic. Truly relaxing and a great family day out. We cruised for about an hour before anchoring in a quiet alcove for a refreshing swim and a delicious paella and salad buffet.

We love this activity and highly recommend it.

Feria Esport y un Record Guinness

El equipo de Mallorca Actividades visitó recientemente la Feria Esport que se lleva a cabo cada año en el Polideportivo de Son Moix. Un año más la Feria fue todo un éxito y atendieron cientos de representantes de deportes y actividades de la isla. La feria estaba enfocada en las actividades disponibles para niños y había un montón de actividades y deportes para que los niños los pudiesen probar. Había pistas de padel, partidos de fútbol, escalada, juegos de agua y toda una variedad de cosas para que los niños se divirtiesen jugando.
Y mientras, en la piscina interior, miles de Mallorquines hicieron historia. Se batió el Record Guinness del relevo con mayor número de participantes durante 24 horas. Más de 3000 personas acudieron a nadar durante 24 horas. Gente de todas las edades y capacidades participaron en el evento benéfico para 'Projecte Home'.

The Mallorca Activities team recently attended the Annual 'Sports Fair' held at the Son Moix Sports Centre in Palma. Hundreds of sports and activities were represented there and were handing out information about what there is to do in Mallorca.
There was an emphasis on children's activities and a huge variety of different sports and activities were available for children to try out. There was climbing, abseiling, obstacle courses, shooting, fencing, paddle, football and much much more.
Meanwhile in the swimming pool inside the centre, thousands of Mallorquin swimming enthusiasts were making history. The Guinness World Record for the Swimming Relay with the most number of participants was broken over a period of 24 hours. More than 3000 people took part in the relay breaking the record previously set in Portugal. The relay went on for 24 hours and saw swimmers of all shapes and sizes doing their part for the charity 'projecte Home'.
